Kaliana Melistas

Kaliana graduated with a B.F.A degree in Music, Theatre, and Dance at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and is currently a 300 RYT certified yoga instructor. She has choreographed and taught a wide range of dance genres and ages for over 13+ years. Kaliana has also judged multiple dance competitions in the midwest since 2015.

As an undergraduate at UofM Kaliana learned and performed with many professional contemporary companies as well as commentated on television for STATE CHAMPS! On Fox Sports Detroit. She can also be seen as a past contestant on season 10 of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE in 2013, where she won a ticket to Vegas Week.

Kaliana grew up dancing at Piazza Dance Company where she trained in a variety of styles and received her varsity letter on the Northville High School Dance Team where she was Team Captain her junior and senior year.

As a child, Kaliana danced with the Joffery and Cincinnati Ballet Companies in their rendition of The Nutcracker at The Detroit Opera House. As a high school student, Kaliana performed at the Detroit Lions Thanksgiving half-time show as a background dancer for Kid Rock (2013) Jesse McCartney (2014).

Kaliana is currently a mother to two children under two and spends her free time teaching yoga and dance to all ages. She loves utilizing the skills she has learned as a dancer, yogi, and mother to help others find confidence, strength, and happiness in their own lives!
