Angela O'Rourke

Angela began her dance studies at four years old at Dancin' Feet Inc. located in Canton, Michigan. As a youth she primarily studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe and Cecchetti under Cheryl Reitz, the late George Hurley and Cecchetti Executive Board Member, June Smith.

In 1999 Angela began teaching at Dancin' Feet where she remained an instructor for twenty-six (26) years. During her decades of teaching Angela focused almost exclusively on "beginners" ranging in age from 2 years old to adults. Angela taught over one thousand budding ballerinas their first plie during her tenure at Dancin' Feet and choreographed hundreds of recreational recital dances. Over the years her classrooms have included youth with different abilities including hearing impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, PTSD/Trauma, physical and intellectual disability.

In 2012 Angela began a Pre-school "Twinkle Toes" Program for the Canton Community focused on adaptive movement for the tiniest of ballerinas. Her classes focused on gross and fine motor skills using props, play and adaptive dance techniques for youth aged 2.5 to 4 years old.

In 2014 Angela became Cecchetti Council of America teacher certified for Pre-Primary I, Pre-Primary II, Pre-Primary III and Grade I Syllabus. She continued teaching ballet, preparing novice and intermediate students for Cecchetti syllabus exams including patterns, anatomy, history, music comprehension and ballet theory.

In 2025 Angela completed the Boston Ballet Company Adaptive Dance program in preparation for the launch of ALL-Ways Ballet Company (ABC) @ PDC - a lifelong dream of creating an inclusive ballet company for youth and adults of all abilities. ABC @ PDC aims to make ballet education accessible to ALL persons interested in learning and performing ballet.

By day, Angela is a Family, Probate and Estate Planning Attorney representing parents with children in Family Court as well as clients with disabilities and their families in Probate Court throughout Southeast Michigan. Angela represents clients with disabilities and their families in guardianship, conservatorship and special needs trust matters. When she is not in the dance studio or courtroom she enjoys gardening, taking trips with her family, seeing Broadway musicals and learning more about ballet of course! Angela is looking forward to making a lot of new dance friends at Piazza Dance Company this year.
